Morning Almsgiving Service
We meticulously prepare high-quality, fresh offerings and guide you through the authentic ritual right as the monks make their morning rounds, ensuring a meaningful and auspicious start to your day.
The Almsgiving Ritual: How it Works
Traditionally known as Sai Bat (ใส่บาตร), the process is simple yet profound:
Preparation: We present you with your chosen beautifully arranged offering set.
The Offering: As the monk approaches, you will remove your shoes, gently place the rice followed by the food, snacks, and water into the monk's alms bowl (bat), and place the flowers on top of the lid.
The Blessing: The monk will chant a short blessing (Yatha-Vari-Vaha) to transfer merit. During this time, you will perform Kruat Nam (pouring water onto the ground or a vessel) to dedicate the good karma to loved ones and ancestors.
